VOTE FOR DAD — TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The promoter
This competition is run by CH Tools (ABN 33 528 710 032) of 58 Hospital Road, Emerald, Queensland — "CH Tools", "we", "us".

2. Entry period
Entries open 12:00am Tuesday 11 August 2026 and close 1:00pm Saturday 5 September 2026, Queensland time. Queensland does not observe daylight saving.
We go by the time your entry reaches us, not the time you sent it. Entries arriving after the closing time are not eligible.
3. Who can enter
You must be 18 or older** and a resident of Queensland.
You can nominate any man you think of as a father figure — your dad, stepdad, grandfather, father-in-law, or someone who's been a dad to you. He doesn't have to be a customer.
You may enter once. One entry per person.
Our system accepts one entry per email address — a second entry from the same email will not be accepted. If we believe one person has entered more than once using different email addresses, we may disqualify those entries (clause 17).
Who can't enter: employees of CH Tools and their immediate families — partner, parent, child, sibling — and anyone involved in running this competition.
4. How to enter
Complete the entry form at `chtools.com.au/pages/vote-for-dad`.
Entry is free. You don't need to buy anything, and buying something doesn't improve your chance of winning.
5. What you send us
Your name and contact details, the name of the man you're nominating, a short piece about why, and a photo or a video.
A photo or video is required — an entry without one isn't complete.
The video doesn't have to be of him. A lot of these will be kids talking about their dad, and that's exactly what we're hoping for. Your video can be of the man himself, of you, of your kids, or of the family — whatever tells us who he is.
What we accept:
- Photo — JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 10MB
- Video — MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 40MB
File size depends on your phone's recording settings as much as on length, so if your video is knocked back for size, record it at a lower quality setting or trim it and try again.
You confirm that:
- what you've told us is true;
- the words are your own;
- you own the photo or video, or have the permission of whoever does;
- the video doesn't contain music, footage or other material you aren't allowed to share; and
- you've told the man you're nominating that you're nominating him.
## 6. Photos and videos — permission
If your photo or video shows, or lets you hear, anyone other than yourself, you need their permission before you upload it.
If a child under 18 appears or can be heard in it, then before you upload you must either:
- be that child's parent or guardian, or
- have their parent or guardian's permission.
By uploading, you're telling us one of those is true.
We won't publish any photo or video containing a child until we're satisfied that permission exists. We may contact you to confirm before it goes into the gallery.
You can ask us to take your photo or video down at any time, and we will.
## 7. What makes an entry valid
Your entry goes into the draw if:
- you're eligible under clause 3;
- it reached us inside the entry period;
- the form is complete;
- your photo or video reached us and was confirmed — see clause 14 if something goes wrong;
- you've met the permission requirements in clause 6; and
- it hasn't been disqualified under clause 17.
That's it. Nothing else affects whether you're in the draw — see clause 8.
## 8. Being published is separate from being in the draw
We'd like to put nominations up in a gallery on our website and share them on social media. Publication is separate from entry, in every direction:
- Publishing your nomination is optional. You choose it on the form.
- We may hold a nomination back — while we confirm permission for a child, or if it isn't suitable for a public page (clause 12).
- The gallery may not be open straight away, and we may run all or part of this competition without publishing nominations at all.
- 🔒 A nomination we don't publish has exactly the same chance in the draw as one we do. Being in the gallery is not what wins, and nothing about publication changes your chances.
### Changing your mind — three different things
These are separate, and you can do any of them by contacting us:

| Delete my personal information | We remove it from the systems we control, subject to clause 13. This also withdraws your entry, because we can't run the draw without it. |
## 9. How the winner is chosen
The winner is drawn at random. There is no public vote and no scoring — nothing anyone does online affects who wins.
Each valid nomination is one entry in the draw. Because you may only enter once, that's one entry each. If several different people nominate the same man, each of those is a separate entry — so a man nominated by several people appears in the draw more than once.
"Show your support" doesn't select the winner. The support button on our website, and any likes, shares or comments on social media, are how Emerald gets behind the dads who've been nominated. They're a show of support and they have no effect on the result.
## 10. The prize
One prize: a $200 CH Tools gift card.
The gift card goes to the nominated father figure — the man in the drawn nomination, not the person who submitted it.
The prize isn't transferable and can't be exchanged for cash. The gift card doesn't expire.
If something outside our reasonable control stops us supplying the prize as described, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
## 11. The draw, and telling the winner
The draw takes place on Father's Day, Sunday 6 September 2026, after entries close at 1:00pm on Saturday 5 September. It's drawn electronically at random from all valid entries. You don't need to be there.
The winner is announced on Father's Day, Sunday 6 September 2026, on our website and social media.
We'll contact the person who submitted the drawn nomination, using the details on their entry, to arrange the prize with the nominated father figure.
If we can't reach them within 14 days of the draw, we'll draw again from the remaining valid entries, and we'll keep doing that until the prize is claimed. Any redraw follows the same process.
## 12. What we publish, and what we won't
Where you've agreed to publication, we may publish the nominated man's first name, the words written about him, the nominator's first name, and any photo or video supplied — on our website and social media, to run and promote this competition.
When there's a winner, we'll publish their first names only — the nominated man's and the nominator's. No surnames, no towns.
We don't have to publish everything. We may decline to publish, or take down, any nomination — including one that's offensive, untrue, contains someone's private details, breaches someone else's rights, or isn't suitable for a public page. We may tidy spelling or trim for length without changing what you meant.
A person reads every nomination before it goes up.
## 13. Your privacy
We collect what's on the entry form to run this competition — to contact you, to identify the winner, and to publish nominations where you've agreed to it.
If you tick the marketing box we'll add you to the CH Tools mailing list, and you can unsubscribe any time. If you don't tick it, we won't. You can enter, and win, without ticking it.
We handle your information in line with the CH Tools privacy policy at `chtools.com.au/policies/privacy-policy`.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove your nomination and media. We'll remove it from the places we control — our website and our own social accounts. We can't retrieve something already shared or saved by someone else, and routine backups may keep a copy for a period before they cycle out.
## 14. If your entry doesn't reach us
Video files are large and reception around here isn't always kind.
You will not be told your entry is in when it isn't If your photo or video doesn't attach, we'll say so on the screen and give you a Retry button.
Use Retry — don't fill the form in again. Retry picks up your existing nomination and has another go at the attachment. Filling the form in again won't work: our system accepts one entry per email address, so a second attempt gets knocked back.
If you're stuck, or you're not sure it went through, contact us and we'll check. We'd rather look it up for you than have you miss the draw.
Don't treat the gallery as proof we've got it. A person checks every nomination before it goes up, and the gallery may not be open straight away — so not seeing yours there doesn't mean anything went wrong.
We're not responsible for entries that never reach us.
## 15. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.
Subject to that, we're not responsible for loss or damage arising from your entry, this competition, or the prize, except where we caused it.
## 16. Changes
We may cancel, suspend or change this competition, or these terms, only where it's reasonably necessary — for example if something outside our control stops it running as planned, or where the law requires it.
We won't make a change that materially disadvantages people who have already entered — we won't reduce or swap the prize except as clause 10 allows, and we won't change how the winner is chosen once entries have opened.
Any change is published on this page and dated.
## 17. Disqualification
We may disqualify an entry that breaches these terms, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, uses someone else's material without permission, or interferes with the entry process.
## 18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.
